Stand Right to Ski Right

Hi Everyone.  This is history.  My first post to my first blog.  Here goes.....If you're getting ready for your first day on the snow, let's start from the beginning and that is balance.  The first part of skiing in balance is standing correctly.....or using the "alpine stance" or "athletic stance".  Once you have all of your equipment on, (1) put your skis shoulder width apart, (2) flex your ankles forward (contacting shin with boot cuff),  (3) get your head out in front of your boots, and (4) bring your arms out in front of the body (slight bend at the elbow) so you can see your hands/poles at all times.  Get used to this position.  It's the foundation from which you can build strong skiing technique.
